Binghamton Population: 46,000
  Binghamton is about 140 miles from Albany, and has a number of museums and parks that are great for children.
     
Cooperstown Population: 2,000
  The small town of Cooperstown, up in the hills west of Albany, has a charming Main Street with baseball on its mind. Most famous for several acclaimed museums, including the National Baseball Hall of Fame, the natural scenery nearby is also a draw for visitors.
     
Hudson/Kinderhook Population: 16,000
  A charming Dutch village surrounded by pastoral beauty and rolling hills, Kinderhook has managed to preserve its yesteryear charm. The village has a magical charm capable of transporting the soul back to a time and place where general stores and corner pharmacies existed.
