Speckling the shimmering expanse of the St. Lawrence River are hundreds of picturesque isles known as the Thousand Islands, a superb setting for leisurely boat sight-seeing cruises out to historic atrractions or a longer stay in a local cottage.
Henderson's founder, Joseph R. Brown set aside land for a public park in 1855. The park provides 18 developed campsites with electrical hookups, all of those with water, a picnic shelter with rest rooms and shower facilities, play ground equipment and walking trail. From the park, an excellent view of the city and the Minnesota River Valley can be enjoyed.
