Overlooking the Hudson River from the Morningside Heights section of Manhattan, General Grant National Memorial is the largest tomb in North America. Grant’‘s Tomb (as it is commonly called) is not only the final resting place of the General, but a memorial to his life and acomplishments.

General Grant National Memorial is open 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, daily. On Wednesdays, July and August, the memorial is open till 8:30 pm. The site is closed every Thanksgiving Day (3rd Thursday in November, Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year’‘s Day (January 1). The site has been closed due to inclement weather, such as severe snow storms. In those instances, please call ahead.
