Big city Buffalo is second in size state-wide only to New York City, but holds its own in terms of cultural attractions, proximity to national landmarks like Niagara Falls and the easy access it proffers to grand parks.
Your children might not yet be aspiring Cornell students but it's never too early to get them interested in science. The place to do it? Sciencenter, where visitors can get a hands-on introduction to the world, from magnets and gravity to honeybees, brain teasers, fossils and Foucault's Pendulum. Keep an eye out for new and featured exhibitions, like "Attack of the Bloodsuckers", a great way to learn about those pesty biters (bugs, parasites and the like) that live amongst us. The facility also hosts a variety of programs throughout the year that are designed to further science education.
