College town Ithaca has two higher-ed institutions to call its own, but also counts to its credit frothing waterfalls, a pleasant pedestrian mall and a clutch of cultural sights.
If you exit Dotsero at I-70 and go 1.5 miles north on the Colorado River Road, this is where you'll end up. The gravel-top Coffee Pot Road is the main access to the Flattops Wilderness Area and connects to Transfer Trail near Deep Lake. It is a snowmobile route in winter. It's also a bit long for a quick bike ride, but if a leisurely roll through the woods is on your itinerary, this is a good choice.
