Description

Housed in an elegant old mansion just east of Central Park, the Frick Collection is formed around the private acquisitions of coke and steel magnate, Henry Clay Frick. Showcased in the museum's 16 galleries is a selection of fine art from European and American masters including works by El Greco, Goya, Bellini, Whistler and Hals. Of note also are the the furnishings and textiles on display around the mansion, which range in style and age from Renaissance to the 18th century, some of it designed later specifically for the property.
