Finger Lakes
The Finger Lakes region is the Tuscany Valley of New York state, with its hundreds of vineyards and winding country roads. Tranquil as it seems, however, this part of New York state has bred activists throughout American history who sparked national change – Susan B. Anthony in Rochester, Elizabeth Cady Stanton in Seneca Falls, and Harriet Tubman in Auburn, among others.

Ithaca Population: 30,000
Driving through the small town of Ithaca is a lot like riding a roller coaster: the roads are narrow, winding and hilly. The city is a campus town made up of two well-reputed academic institutions: Cornell University and Ithaca College.

Syracuse Population: 150,000
Syracuse, the cloudy city that is stingy with sunshine but spectacular with sunsets, is a progressive town with numerous industries and varied cultures. Its history of past wealth is displayed in the magnificent mansions that line James and Genessee Streets and the spectacular Hotel Syracuse, known for its crystal chandeliers and antique furnishings.
